This project was built as a proof of concept, it was designed to support an overhung 27 lb touch-screen monitor used in a laser eye surgery system.
This custom CNC machined monitor arm assembly was completed turnkey. Manufactured to a customer supplied design. This mini project consisted of the manufacture and assembly of one set of two arms. Each arm assembly consisted of 19 individual prototype parts. The base, offset link arms, neck, up to and including the mounting plate (11 parts) were all CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet. At each one of the 4 pivot point there are CNC Machined delrin bearings that account for the 8 remaining components.
Finishing and Assembly: After inspection the aluminum parts were bead blasted and received a black anodize finish (MIL-SPEC 8625F Type 2, Class 2). The parts were bead blasted to achieve a matt black finish. After beautification process the 19 parts were assembled with Stainless Hardware at the customers request.
We are hopeful it will meet their requirements and become a production build.
